Snake Infestation: Exterminate Pest Snakes

A snake infestation can be a scary thing for any homeowner, especially if the snakes are poisonous. If you have a snake infestation you are most likely deathly afraid you or one of your family members will unsuspectingly run into one in the most unexpected of places. We are here to help you identify what type of snake species infestation you are dealing with and the best way to exterminate these pest snakes.

How to Identify a Snake Infestation

1. The first way to identify a snake identification is the obviously see one. However, seeing one may not indicate the extent of the infestation or that you have an infestation at all. It may be that the snake you saw entered the house through a door or window left open. However, if you see multiple snakes then you are most likely dealing with a snake infestation. If you are brave, one way to have a better chance of seeing the extent of the issue is to venture to the afflicted area at night. Snakes are generally nocturnal animals and will therefore be easier to spot at night...just be careful you don't accidentally get to close to one.

 2. Another great way to identify if you have a snake infestation is to find their skins. Snakes lose their skin multiple times over their life as they become large. If you find one snake skin in your house this is not a cause for panic, as again this could be an isolated case. However, if you are finding large quantities of snakes skins and of different sizes then this is another sign that you may be dealing with a full blown snake infestation. However, the nice thing about finding a snake skin is that you or a professional can generally determine what type of snake species is invading your house and come up with a plan to exterminate the snakes.

 3. Yet another way to identify if you have a snake infestation is to stumble across their nest or babies. Generally if you spot multiple baby snakes in your house you are most likely dealing with a snake infestation. Spotting multiple babies indicates that a females snake potentially built a nest in your home and hatched her eggs there. You may also stumble upon a snake nest. Snake nests look very similar to a pile of debris. However, depending on the type of snake species that is invading your home the look of the nest may vary.

4. Another tactical way to identify a snake infestation is to spread flour or another powdery substance on the ground around the area you think the infestation is active. If a snake moves through the powdery substance obvious tracks will be left behind. However, this again has the downside that you may not necessarily know the extent of your snake infestation because one snake may have slithered through multiple times.
